POWER EVANGELISM

 

The End Time Model of Evangelism is accepted by both evangelical and

charismatic churches.  It involves the equipping of every believer to heal the

sick effectively in the very same way that Jesus did to demonstrate to the world

that He is the only way to the Father.  This approach has been proven effective

in restoring unity between evangelical and charismatic churches.  It is potentially

instrumental in helping the Church fulfill the Great Commission.

 

John 14:11-12, “Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is

in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves. I tell you

the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing.”

 

Butch Berner trained under William Lau, founder of The Elijah Challenge in February 2005, to win animists, idol-worshippers, Buddhists, Hindus, and Muslims through demonstrating our God is the true God by miraculously healing them.  Believers receive the spirit of boldness to preach the gospel, and the spirit of power to heal the sick and cast out demons in Jesus’ name.  In the Gospels, these signs confirm the gospel message to unbelievers.  (Mark 16:15-20).

 

Butch Berner serves with Light of Africa in the capacity of Trainer and Mentor, Bible Teacher at the Bible School (located in Livingstone, Zambia) and in nearby village churches.  He is available, by appointment, to conduct this seminar and other teachings that support the national church and its leaders.

 

ELIJAH CHALLENGE TESTIMONY

As you know, Butch recently went out to teach The Elijah Challenge at a rural pastors meeting in the Nyawa area.  Here is the report from our friend and peer, missionary Jake Schwertfeger, with Overland Missions.

 

 “I am a missionary in Zambia, Africa with Overland Missions.  Recently we held a conference where Butch Berner taught the power evangelism course through Elijah Challenge.  The indigenous men and women of the chitonga tribe received the teaching with enthusiasm and expectation.  After the teaching, we took our men out for a two day outreach in a neglected area of the Nyawa chiefdom called Chili.  We first encountered one of the more powerful witch doctors in the area and took a time to share the word of God with him and his five wives and various patients who lived on his property.

 

 The Zambian men and women who attended the Elijah Challenge training were asked to pray for the various patients and every one of them were healed.  Our men weren’t asking, they were declaring…they were commanding.  It was a beautiful sight.  The witch doctor gave his life to Jesus Christ along with the rest of his household.  The next morning we held a large meeting and had over 60 testimonies of people being healed of blindness, pains throughout the body, demonic strongholds, etc.  Every person we prayed for testified of being healed.  This pattern has continued as the norm for an entire month of ministry through over 20 villages representing thousands of people.”
